At First Children Services, we are not just an organization; we are a family. Our Transitions program is for students in grades 2-5 who are unable to attend public school due to anxiety, depression, or other mental challenges. We offer a small group, center-based, home instruction program that includes individual and group counseling alongside an academic curriculum, designed to transition students back to school successfully. Our team is passionate, diverse, and dynamic, known for our collaborative spirit and unwavering commitment to high-quality, evidence-based practice.
Qualifications:
We are seeking candidates who hold NJ Certification as a Teacher of the Handicapped or certification in selected Elementary School Subjects, along with a minimum of 1 year of experience working with students with mental health and/or developmental disabilities.
Performance Responsibilities:
As a Transitions Teacher, you will play a crucial role in instructing students in academic subjects, tailoring techniques to individual learning needs, and guiding them through academic and adjustment challenges. You will collaborate with parents, counselors, and administrators to address student issues and develop individualized educational plans, all while maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with safety policies.
