Job purpose
- Part time job to serve our after-hours customers by providing professional, efficient, friendly service while providing drug/alcohol testing services for their employees.
Duties and responsibilities
- Be “on call” for afterhours collections of urine drug test, breath alcohol test, and occasionally hair test.
- Hours would be all non-business hours. Current business hours are M-F 8am-5pm.
- Travel to client’s locations, or in the case of an accident a safe collection site (Convenience store, our clinic, etc.) to perform these specimen collections whenever necessary.
- Must be dependable and be able to answer the phone at all hours of the night.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications include:
- High School Diploma
- Own and be proficient in the use of a smart phone, including email.
- Have a reliable vehicle and insurance for that vehicle and be willing to use the vehicle for company use.
- Be free from drug and/or alcohol abuse and submit to testing regularly to verify. Must refrain from alcohol/drug use of any kind while on call.
Additional Qualifications desired but not required
- Speak both English & Spanish fluently.
- DOT certified collector
- DOT Breath Alcohol Certified
- An associates or bachelor’s degree
- Have past supervisory and/or customer service experience
- Phlebotomy

Working conditions
Testing is conducted at various locations as described below:
- Various manufacturing plants who primarily call for post-accident testing and occasionally for reasonable suspicion testing.
- Trucking companies who may have a trucker coming through town who has an accident.
- Construction sites who work at night.
- Retail establishments i.e. Home Depot, Wal-Mart etc.
Most events are in central Arkansas, but we are occasionally asked to travel up to 150 miles.
Must be able to handle occasional belligerent customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Physical requirements
Must be able to walk, bend, and stand for long periods of time with little or no difficulties. Must be able to lift and carry 25lbs.
Training Requirement
Require DOT drug and alcohol collector training and hands-on training at our clinic. Total time approximately 20 hours. If already DOT certified that time could be reduced to 12 hours.
Requires “shadowing” a current on call collector for 2-4 weeks (or until proficient) and going with that collector to as many afterhours events as possible.
Pay & Benefits
While in training:
$11/hour
Once training is completed
$100/week flat for being on call (paid if you receive no calls)
$45/hour (minimum 2 hours paid per event) time starts from when you leave your house until you return to your home
$.45/ mile
Most events take 2 hours or less
A bonus equivalent to $9 per training hour will be paid after 6 months of on call service has been completed to help offset the $11/hour rate paid during the training period.
