What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Needs Caregiver position at First Choice In-Home Care?
The position of Special Needs Caregiver (SNC) is a unique position, offered at First Choice In-Home Care, intended to address an existent and growing gap in providing comprehensive and holistic behavioral support, as well as daily living task completion, to our population of developmentally disabled children and young adults with special needs.
Presently, children with special needs receive support in these areas through primarily two separate roles; the position of RBT or CBT (to address behavioral needs and supports) and the position of Caregiver (to provide direct support in completing tasks of basic daily living). Many families with special needs children struggle fulfill one of these needs, let alone both. Via the SNC position, First Choice intends to address both of these needs by combining the responsibilities into one holistic role that comprehensively satisfies a spectrum of needs experienced by special needs populations.
