Position Overview: As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our practice. You will assist with various medical tasks such as taking vital signs, performing blood work, and managing medication orders. This dual-role position requires excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a commitment to providing excellent patient care.
Medical Assistant Duties:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs (blood pressure, pulse, temperature, weight, etc.) and documenting medical histories.
- Draw blood samples for laboratory tests and perform basic lab work.
- Administer medications as prescribed by the physician and provide instructions to patients regarding medication usage.
- Assist the physician with various clinical tasks, including performing basic tests and procedures.
- Prepare and clean exam rooms, ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are stocked and ready.
- Provide patient education and answer questions related to treatments, procedures, and medications.
- Support the physician with patient follow-up and care coordination as needed.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is highly desirable.
- Proficient in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems and standard office software such as Eclinical Works
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multitask.
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance procedures, and prior authorization processes.
Salary : $16 - $20
