Electronics Technical Support/Field Service Technician
A high performance electronics company is seeking to fill a full time position for a Tech Support/Field Service Technician.
The Technical Support Technician/Field Service Tech will work with internal teams and customers to provide technical support in person or on the phone. This position requires a reasonable amount of traveling within the US and possibly Canada during the week and, on occasion, during weekends for more complicated customer problems. Responsibilities:
- Provide technical customer service support for electronic products.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with products, including programming protocols.
- Take ownership of reported customer issues through their resolution.
- Communicate with clients to resolve issues via phone, email, or chat.
- Escalate unresolved problems to internal teams.
- Provide prompt and accurate feedback to customers.
- Reference internal databases or external resources for tech solutions.
- Prioritize and manage multiple open issues simultaneously.
- Follow up with clients to ensure electronic products are fully functional after troubleshooting.
- Log and document all inspections, maintenance, and repair work.
- Document technical knowledge in notes and manuals.
- Develop and provide bill-of-materials for product modifications.
- Manage record keeping of product modifications.
- Provide general engineering support within the team.
- Assist in developing and executing testing requirement procedures.
- Work independently with minimal supervision.
- Travel to job sites within the US and possibly Canada with little notice.
- Interact with customers at job sites to troubleshoot and solve issues.
- Write detailed reports of job site visits.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in customer service skills.
- Minimum 2 years of field experience in manufacturing electronics.
- Good understanding of programming protocols.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Ability to interpret mechanical documents and engineering drawings.
- Ability to provide step-by-step technical assistance, both written and verbal.
- Familiarity with electrical tools and drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Attention to detail with a goal-driven attitude.
- Proficient computer skills with MS Office.
- Confidence in delivering training sessions.
- Strong English language skills and written communication abilities.
- Reliable transportation required.
