Job Overview
The Bookkeeper shall perform the principal functions of bill payment, payroll, transaction recording, financial statement preparation, financial record maintenance, and provide assistance to the Senior Minister and Board Chair, Treasurer, Outreach Chair, and other appropriate lay leaders that are directly responsible for the financial matters of the church.
Responsibilities
The Bookkeeper shall have primary responsibility for record maintenance of all receipts, expenditures, and financial obligations/transactions of the Church, as well as the preparation of all reports required by lay leadership to manage the financial affairs of the Church.
Experience
1. Education: 3 years’ experience in financial office field. Office 365 and accounting platform software.
2. Be proficient in the use of computers, office machines and knowledgeable of software used in the office for communication and networking.
3. Be of high standard in attitude, outlook, and moral character, with an awareness of the importance of example.
4. Possess and demonstrate good communication and people skills.
5. Possess and demonstrate good business skills.
6. Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information.
7. Be in good standing with the congregation of his/her choice.
8. Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, dress, and decorum within the office.
