What are the responsibilities and job description for the Pastor position at First Church of God DBA Living Grace Church?
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bi-vocational Pastor to lead our congregation and provide spiritual guidance to our community. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a deep commitment to Christian values, fostering an environment of support, mentorship, and growth. This role requires effective public speaking skills, crisis management abilities, and a passion for helping others navigate life's challenges through faith.
At Living Grace, we exist to glorify God, by worshiping, following, and sharing Him with every part of our lives, and making disciples who make disciples. You will see that the Word of God is central here. We believe the Spirit of God uses the WORD of GOD to transform the children of God. Our gatherings are saturated with God's Word. Our standard will always be God's Word. What we teach and preach is God's Word. As a church, we want to lead, gather, and live the way Christ and the early church intended. We intend to be unashamedly BIBLICAL, relentlessly GRACIOUS, and radically GENEROUS. Living Grace Church was formerly Tyler First Church of God which restarted in 2019 as Living Grace Church. Living Grace Church is a multi-ethnic, multi-generational growing church and is seeing people come to know the Lord and God is changing lives. Sunday morning service has about 70 people in attendance. People are getting connected with others and growing deeper in their walk with the Lord. Living Grace is located in south Tyler which is a growing city of approximately 100,000 residents with 400,000-500,000 commuters from the surrounding East Texas area. Tyler and the surrounding area is seeing a high volume of out-of-state people all across the U.S. including the West Coast move into the area to make Tyler and the surrounding area their home. The University of Texas at Tyler and Tyler Junior College are potential outreach opportunities. We are excited about what the Lord has in store in the years to come as the church grows with the community. There is a lot of potential as a young restart with good organizational structure setting a good foundation for growth with the next pastor.
