Database Administrator for SQL Server - SSRS / SSIS / SSAS

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): NC, PA

This position's responsibilities include daily production support for the SQL Server database infrastructure. These database platforms are maintained on Windows Server Operating Systems on both physical and virtual footprints. Virtual servers are managed on V-Sphere using VMWare.

Responsibilities

This position is also responsible for maintaining and managing the standards, documentation, backup and recovery, design and implementation of the physical data storage, virtualization of databases, maintenance, patching, installation, capacity planning, access, security administration (vulnerability assessment and protection of data), performance and availability, data integrity, support of the BI infrastructure technology, and troubleshooting of all assigned database issues.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of experience in Database Engineering OR High School Diploma or GED and 8 years of experience in Database Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

• Possess strong knowledge of SQL Server (all relevant and supported version) running on a Windows OS platform.
• Provide oversight, mentoring and leadership to less experienced staff.
• Provide on-call support for production environment, conduct root cause analysis for issues.
• Assist development teams with development, testing, tuning and implementation of database applications.
• Possess experience with virtualization of database platforms and environments.
• Provide proactive monitoring of the database instances, and take preventive steps to ensure high availability and optimal performance.
• Possess a working knowledge and use of COMMVAULT for backup and recovery.
• Have strong experience with SQL Server Management Studio / SSAS / SSRS / SSIS / SQL Agent / SQL Engine / SQL Server Central Management Server, including setup and configuration.
• Possess a working knowledge of Solarwinds.
• Strong technical abilities, quick study of new technology via on the job training, the intellect to resolve complex problems logically and methodically, and good judgment to involve and communicate with vendors, senior level technicians, and management.
• Have experience with setting up and maintaining an enterprise disaster recovery environment, using tools such as SQL Server, Always On, and SQL Server SSIS/SSRS/SSAS.
• Ability to be on call 24 x 7 and participate in an on call rotation.
• Must demonstrate ability to work in a team-oriented environment and effectively communicate both orally and in writing with peers and customers.
• Experience with Tableau, QlikView, PowerBI, and Oracle OBIEE.
• Experience with Delphix Data Virtualization and Continuous Compliance (obfuscation).
• Experience with Idera products Admin Toolkit, SQL Comparison.
• Experience with Qlik Replicate.
• Experience with virtualized databases on VMWare.
• Experience with Service NOW and ITIL processes.
• Experience with SDLC processes.
• Certifications in SQL Server (MCSE).
• PowerShell scripting languages and Visual Studio development are also a plus.
• Banking/financial services industry experience. (FCB)
