What are the responsibilities and job description for the Real Estate Loan Processor position at First City Credit Union?
The Real Estate Loan Processor will assume, but not be limited to, the following responsibilities:
- Loan Application Review- Verify and review mortgage applications for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with lending guidelines.
- Document Collection & Verification- Gather and validate necessary documentation such as income statements, tax returns, credit reports, and property appraisals.
- Communication with Borrowers & Stakeholders- Serve as the primary point of contact for borrowers, underwriters, loan officers, and other involved parties to ensure a smooth loan process.
- Compliance & Regulatory Adherence- Ensure all loan applications meet federal, state, and lender-specific regulations, including TRID, RESPA, and HMDA requirements.
- Loan File Management- Maintain organized and accurate loan files, updating records with the latest information and ensuring all conditions are met before underwriting and closing.
- Problem Resolution- Identify and address any issues or discrepancies in loan files, working proactively with internal teams and external parties to resolve potential delays.
The successful candidate will possess the following education, knowledge and skillsets:
- Real estate lending course work preferred
- Minimum two years' experience as a first mortgage loan processor in a computerized mortgage lending environment
- Experience with Encompass loan origination system and/or MeridianLink preferred
