Summary

The Branch Manager performs a broad variety of customer service, sales, and lending activities in order to promote branch growth. Responsible for mentoring, developing, and supervising all branch employees and overseeing the day-to-day operations of the branch. Actively participates in achieving sales and service goals and in maintaining operational excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for overall management, growth and profitability of branch.
  • Cross-trained on all functions within the branch, filling in when needed.
  • Responsible for overall day-to-day management of facility, staff, and operations of the branch.
  • Uses reports and resources as tools to maximize results for branch and employees.
  • Participates in hiring, on-boarding, ; and responsible for managing performance and providing coaching for all branch employees;, and conducts performance reviews.
  • Proactively participates in business development efforts to grow the branch.
  • Actively participates in the community maintaining good public relations.
  • Maintains and develops positive relationships with existing and prospective customers, demonstrating excellent customer service and setting an example for other staff.
  • Implements controls to protect the bank in accordance with policies and procedures.
  • Manages opening and closing the branch in accordance with FCB’s security policy.
  • Identifies training needs and opportunities; develops and implements a plan for meeting those needs. Provide on-the-job training to tellers and universal bankers as needed.
  • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive, providing recommendations for promotion and salary adjustment as appropriate.
  • Monitor tellers to ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures, to include outages and proof errors.
  • Inspect night depository logs on a monthly basis to ensure compliance with FCB’s policy.
  • Maintain key and combination log for branch.
  • Ensure all teller equipment is properly functioning.
  • Respond to customer complaints.
  • Buy and sell money to ensure the branch has an adequate working supply of currency.
  • Maintain teller and vault keys under dual control.
  • Perform teller drawer audits for out of balance situations and vacations.
  • Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
  • Assist customers with transactional needs according to the bank’s policies and procedures, including answering basic customer inquiries regarding account balances, transaction history, service charges, interest rates, etc. as appropriate.
  • Recognize customer needs and refer customers to appropriate bank partner(s) for cross-sell or service opportunities.
  • Practice safe and sound bank procedures, including adherence to applicable laws and regulations, internal controls, operational procedures and risk management policies; adhere to security protocols for robbery, fraud, opening/closing process, cash control, teller procedures, etc.
  • Other duties assigned by the manager.

Job Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent required

· 5 or more years of banking or related experience

· 5-7 years of effective leadership experience

· Proven exceptional customer service experience

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with both customers and other employees.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills.

· Ability to effectively manage time pressures and stress that can change rapidly depending on staffing levels as well as customer activity.

· Must have excellent attention to detail along with critical thinking skills.

· Must possess the ability to work well with employees at all levels of the organization and work well independently and as part of a team.

· Demonstrated work experience with confidential and sensitive information.

· Must be able to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner with a positive attitude.

· Positive attitude, initiative, willingness, and ability to contribute to projects.

· Strong PC knowledge to include Microsoft Word & Excel.

· Knowledge of Jack Henry Core Director and Deposit Pro preferred, but not required.

· Provides a complete range of customer services including opening new accounts, explaining available financial institution products and services, and gathers customer information to process new and existing accounts.
