First Community Credit Union is offering a nine-week, full-time (40 hrs. /week) paid internship opportunity based in Houston, TX for an individual looking to pursue a career in Financial Analysis. This position will provide hands-on experience in financial analyses by monitoring cash flow/availability, maintaining appropriate settlement and safekeeping controls, pricing the Credit Union's portfolio on a monthly basis, and other such responsibilities.
As a member of the Accounting team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Financial Analysis while working to advance our organization's practices. This will be accomplished by collaborating with our CFO and Sr. VP of Accounting in managing the investment portfolio and ensuring its quality and asset growth. As your knowledge and experience expand, you will have opportunities to identify strategies to maximize interest margins, prepare financial projections, and recommend changes in financial controls, policies, and programs as are necessary to preserve Credit Union assets.
Requirements:
Must have or be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; pursuing a CPA/CFP is preferred.
