Requirements :
This position requires an Associate Degree in Business Administration, or related field; or two years of related work experience in a financial institution with progressively responsible duties.
This position requires excellent oral and written communication skills, successful interpersonal skills, and the ability to work well with all First Community team members. The ability to develop relationships with members, small businesses, and community leaders is required. The leader must possess a thorough understanding of First Community’s products and services and be able to articulate and champion its values, vision and mission.
Essential Functions :
- Responsible for the sales and delivery of Credit Union products and services to new and existing members; including granting consumer loans, opening new accounts, encouraging the use of technology, referring specialized products and services to appropriate departments (i.e. mortgage loans, investment services, commercial loans).
- Assists in the overall management of branch operations including the dissemination of information and directions from Leadership to staff ensuring that the branch runs smoothly and member service expectations are met.
- Develop a working knowledge of all staff positions within their area of responsibility. Actively demonstrate by working in these positions periodically, especially as a Financial Service Representative or Teller to assist during busy times and when staff is out of the office.
- Stay abreast of branch financials, loan growth and membership growth. Participates and assists with setting and attaining branch goals that support companywide objectives.
- Comply with approved loan policy and loan procedures and guidelines, while making sound recommendations to the appropriate approval authority on all loans outside of established lending authority.
- Responsible for compliance with all applicable Credit Union policies at the branch level, manage security, and reporting any exceptions to the appropriate supervisor.
- May be trained as a Mortgage Loan Officer and registered with NMLS, or may assist MLO by acquiring preliminary information. Gather and relay that information to the MLO to expedite the member’s needs in order for the MLO to process and serve the member’s requests efficiently.
- Ensure audits & compliance of the branch meet standards of the credit union.
- Completes required compliance training in a timely manner and comply with all applicable regulations including Reg. Z, B, D, E, DD, CC, P, BSA, OFAC, HMDA, FCRA, and the USA PATRIOT Act.
- Demonstrate the ability to balance ATMs, ITMs, TCRs (if applicable), to problem-solve basic operating issues, and to train others as appropriate.
- Assist with controlling operational expenses incurred in the daily operation of the branch. This includes staffing at a level that maximizes quality service to the members.
- Responsible for maintaining positive communication between the members and branch employees, as well as relations between branch employees themselves.
- Manage all employees assigned to the branch operations and performs management functions, i.e., monitors department work schedule and coverage, time sheets and other related issues.
- Assist with creation of content and conducts group and individual training for sales and service, branch operations, and compliance with regulations, policy, and procedures to ensure the growth and development of the branch staff, and the ensure operational procedures are reviewed.
- Assists with interviewing and giving recommendations during the hiring process for the branch.
- Assists in writing and delivering the department’s employee evaluations, the rewarding of exemplary performance, and the recommendation of salary increases to Senior Leadership Team for those employees supervised.
- Responsible for recommending and implementing disciplinary actions up to and including terminations once approved by Administration.
