What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accounting and Finance Intern position at First Community Credit Union?
First Community Credit Union is offering a nine-week, full-time (40 hrs. /week) paid internship opportunity based in Houston, TX for an individual looking to pursue a career in Accounting and Finance. The internship will be from 6/09/2025 - 8/08/2025. This position will provide hands-on experience in financial analyses by monitoring cash flow, maintaining appropriate settlement ad safekeeping controls, pricing the Credit Union's portfolio on monthly basis, and other such responsibilities.
As a member of the Accounting team, you will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in Financial Analysis while working to advance our organization's practices. This will be accomplished by collaborating with our CFO and Sr. VP of Accounting in managing the investment portfolio and ensuring its quality and asset growth. In addition, you will experience the day-to-day accounting tasks such as GL reconciliations, Accounts Payable/Receivable, and other such duties.
Requirements:
The qualified candidate must be actively pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
