Loan Originator
1. Completes residential mortgage loan applications with borrowers.
2. Works with clients to arrange residential mortgage loan credit transactions to meet their needs.
3. Assists consumers in identifying proper residential mortgage loan products.
4. Advertise and communicate to the general public loan origination services.
5. Build relationships in the community to build the loan originators business.
6. Completes all internal required continuing education courses assigned timely.
7. Exercise proficiency with all technology requirements including, but not limited to: Blue Sage,
Encompass, Compensafe and Paychex.
8. Represent FCM, both ethically and professionally, with a positive attitude and demeanor.
9. Provide superior customer service, while exemplifying the FCM culture in the community.
10. Uphold all internal and regulatory compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures.
11. Attend all required staff meetings.
12. Report hours of work to management when due.
13. Complete new employee orientation courses and training.
14. Maintain requirements of the Dodd Frank/NMLS registration process.
15. Other duties as assigned by manager or company.
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in business; or related field preferred, high school diploma or GED 1-3 years of related experience.

- Strong analytical and problemsolving skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose highlevel information into details, abstract up from lowlevel information to a more general understanding, distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs, and distinguish solution ideas from requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities of Loan Originator:
- Communicates with customers to help them choose the best mortgage loan they can afford
- Verifies the information provided on applications to obtain more information if missing data or mistakes are present
- Collects data from customers, such as their assets, salaries, debts and employment status
- Reviews file documentation for missing or erroneous information
- Verifies information about applicant history with credit bureaus and other agencies so the lender can approve or deny the loan
- Oversees the staff that works with borrowers’ mortgage applications
- Remains aware of loan application deadlines and informs customers about them
- Advertises and communicates to the general public FCM loan origination services.
- Exercise proficiency with all technology requirements including, but not limited to: Encompass, Compensafe, Blue Sage, FCM Knowledge Center, Total Expert, AUS systems, BAI Learning, etc..
- Represent FCM, both ethically and professionally, with a positive attitude and demeanor.
- Provide superior customer service, while exemplifying FCM ethically in the community.
- Upholds all internal and regulatory compliance guidelines, policies, and procedures, as hosted in the FCM Knowledge Center.
- Complete all internal required continuing education courses assigned in the time they are due.
- Maintain requirements of the NMLS registration process.
- Handle expenses accurately and timely.
- Complete payroll accurately and timely.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and/or Experience:
High School Diploma/GED; 3 years’ experience in mortgage industry and familiarity of documents included in the loan credit package preferred.
