Job Description
Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant for Outpatient Department
Please

permanent address outside of radius rule of 75 miles. Please note time off
requests must be disclosed with initial submission to be considered for
approval. Time off requested after the acceptance date will not be
approved.
13 weeks assignment, at least one years experience current required in outpatient
physical therapy. Must be a team player, flexible and accustomed to fast paced
environment. Must have successfully completed at least two 13-week travel
assignment. When submitting candidates include at least two references (one
must be from current manager), a resume, and completed skills
checklist/competency assessment.
DUTIES: Treats patients utilizing the application of a wide variety of therapeutic interventions for rehabilitation of physical function and developmental disorders. Primarily outpatient orthopedic adult, but also including neuro outpatient and some orthopedic kids. Work closely and communicate regularly with PTs. *Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span of patients served *Oversees and ensures a comprehensive rehabilitation program designed to meet the physical, psychosocial, and immediate environmental well-being of the patient *Promotes patient/caregiver self-determination by optimizing outside resource utilization to achieve the highest level of independence. *Coordinates and communicates with various disciplines or services involved in patient care. *Coordinates efforts toward discharge goals established at initial evaluation and during episode of care. *Is a patient advocate. *
CERTIFICATIONS: Must have a New Mexico PTA License. - BLS/BCLS certifications required. BLS must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or client.
SHIFTS: Starts between 0800-0830; 8 hour days. Shifts may fluctuate to fulfill department staffing needs. No Weekends, Holidays or Call. Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. Traveling pairs are not guaranteed same schedules or same shifts. If traveler is required to float (unlikely) they will float to support local OP Rehab facilities.

- Travelers are first to float within facility and to alternate locations within 20 miles of permanent assigned location. 3. State tax is passed through to your agency and will be reflected on your invoice. The state tax should be paid to the state of New Mexico. 4. ENSURE AN ACCURATE SS# and DOB IS ENTERED. IF NOT, TRAVELER MAY BE PUSHED/AGENCY SUSPENED (creates I.T. onboarding issues). 5. Cancellations/Fees: Please review page 13 of their contract regarding fees your agency could receive (for travelers cancelling without proper notice).
