Job Description
32 hours/week (no guarantee of more hours) in a high-volume lab. This is considered full-time and eligible for all benefits. No weekends or holidays. Salary numbers below are based on 1,664 worked hours/year.
Cytotech will work with state-of-the-art instrumentation. Experience required with GYN/non-GYN screenings & fine needle procedures. Experience with Cytology specimen processing a plus. Primary duty will be the microscopic evaluation of pap smears. Additional duties will include processing of Non GYN specimens, assisting on final needle aspirates, microscopic evaluation of Non GYN specimens, pap smear registration and accessioning, pap smear processing, pap smear staining, stainer maintenance. The processing, registration, and accessioning is typically done by support staff, but the Cytotechs cover for PTO, FMLA, call offs, or when it is needed based on volume. Equipment used includes Thin Prep processors, Thin Prep imager, Leica stainer, SoftPath. ASCP required.
