Position Summary
Under the direction of the radiologist/provider, performs radiography exams and procedures at a level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail. Complies with ALARA and regulatory requirements in providing safe and appropriate care for the patient.

Primary Job Responsibilities and Accountabilities
"Evaluates schedule and orders, reviewing as needed with the radiologist and referring provider to ensure the appropriate exam is done for each patient.
"Communicates effectively with each patient to verify patient identity, ensure optimal understanding and clarify history.
"Performs point of care pregnancy testing following the department protocols for pregnancy screening.
"Operates radiography and fluoroscopy equipment in various care settings, using appropriate protocols and adjusting technical factors as needed.
"Prepares exam for interpretation, ensuring all documentation is accurate and complete.
"Performs quality control as required and follows the process for reporting equipment malfunction, removing equipment from use if required.
"Maintains cleanliness of work area and follows standards for hand hygiene and infection control.
"Transports patients using safe patient handling equipment and techniques as needed, ensuring safe and effective handoff communication when transferring the care of the patient from or back to another department.
"Is a mentor for students in their clinical assignment within the department, assisting and supervising them appropriate to the students current level of education.
Basic Qualifications
Required
"Completion of a formal Radiography program with associated certificate or degree
"IEMA License in Radiography
"American Registry of Radiologic Technologist ARRT(R) registered
"Current CPR certification.
Preferred
"Strong interpersonal, analytical, and multi-tasking skills.
Additional Knowledge & Skills
"Working knowledge of HIPPA, privacy, and safe guarding protected health information.
