Summary Job Description:
The Boiler Operator’s main duty is to monitor the heating, cooling, compression, and water systems within the plant, do routine checks, logbooks, chemistry tests, and add chemicals to various systems. Operators will assist Maintenance with repairs as needed but will typically not do major repairs on their own. A State of Minnesota 2nd Class B Boilers License, or 1st Class B boilers license is required. This position will work night shift; 6:00pm-6:00am on a 2,2,3 schedule.
Essential Functions:
- Monitor and maintain the facility high pressure boiler systems.
- Support the site by ensuring the safe and proper operation of boilers.
- Maintain logs, data sheets, and all necessary paperwork related to boiler operations.
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance work on boiler systems.
- Perform all required lab-oriented chemistry tests, regulatory tests and inspections.
- Ensure compliance with federal and state laws
- Prepares boilers and related equipment for state and insurance inspections.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the boiler room.
- Assist the maintenance operation, as needed.
- Works within all regulatory requirements.
- Adherence to GMP practices and all other food safety requirements.
- Committed to providing a safe food product.
- Works within all regulatory requirements.
- Perform all other related duties per management direction.
Job Requirements:
- Must have a current MN State 1st Class B Hight Pressure Boilers License or possess a 2nd Class B high Pressure Boiler License with the ability to obtain MN State 1st Class B High Pressure Boilers License within six months from date of hire.
- Must have a MN State Class D Water Opertor license or ability to obtain license.
- Able to maintain certification of applicable Boilers License and Water Operator Certificate.
- Experience troubleshooting and maintaining boiler room equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals.
- Computer and administrative skills
- Previous PM systems experience preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA safety guidelines
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- High School diploma or equivalent
