Technical Writer III (Contingent)

First Division Consulting is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation.

The contractor shall:

• Develop, write, and edit technical documentation, including user manuals, installation guides, and system specifications
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather information and ensure accuracy and completeness of documentation
• Create and maintain documentation templates and standards
• Review and update existing documentation to ensure consistency and compliance with government standards
• Conduct research and analysis to understand technical concepts and effectively communicate them to a non-technical audience
• Assist in the development of training materials and presentations
• Manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
  
  
  

Requirements

• Active DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communications, or a related field
• 5 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably within the USMC or Department of Defense (DoD)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Proficiency in using documentation tools such as Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, and content management systems
• Familiarity with software development processes and terminology
• Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable
• Strong organizational and time management skills
  
  
  

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, reach, stoop, kneel, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and keyboard
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work
• Light to moderate lifting may be required
