What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Vice President, Mortgage Lender position at First Farmers Bank & Trust?
Mortgage Lender will have access to meeting space in the Carmel, IN office, but is allowed to work remotely as much as necessary.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Originates first mortgage loans & home equity lines of credit, while also promoting the financial institution and its lending services to the real estate community. Help process loan applications for approval or denial within assigned lending authority. Provide input on the ALCO committee, Loan Committee, and other areas as needed. Develop and cultivate relationships with Major Minority census tracts & Low to Moderate Income census tracts.
DUTIES:
1. Process loan applications (Consumer and Real Estate)
2. Call on current and new customers to generate new business within trade area
3. Screens loan requests based on financial institution policies and on types of loans offered by the institution
4. Order appraisals, credit reports, background checks, reference checks and other information needed on loan applicants
5. Increase the deposit base of the branch within the parameters of authority
6. Coordinate and assist with the closing of loans
7. Assist with collection on past due loans for your branch
Requirements:
RELATIONSHIPS/QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Responsible to the VP Director of Mortgage Lending for the fulfillment of duties assigned
2. Has the ability to achieve profit, growth and customer service objectives within Bank policy guidelines
3. Good sales and computer skills and a proven ability to develop business are necessary
4. Should be analytically minded and possess good judgment
5. Must demonstrate management, communication, and interpersonal skills
6. Strong working knowledge of the bank’s lending policies, procedures and documentation requirements
7. Motivated to be active in the communities they service and being active on social media platforms.
