Job Summary
As an Item Processing Specialist, you’ll operate and monitor mainframe processes for the affiliated 215 Holding Company banks (Liberty National Bank and First Farmers & Merchants) serving communities in southern Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa. The Item Processing Specialist plays a vital role in processing transactions for our banks. It is essential to have excellent communication skills, good follow up, and strong technical knowledge with the ability to dig into problems to find solutions. Prior experience with Fiserv is a plus.
Essential Functions
- Assist with the daily operation of the Unisys MCP mainframe system including executing programs, printer reports, notices, checks, and statements
- Process incoming and outgoing x9.37 files containing imaged checks and ACH transactions
- Produce statements and transfer files to third party processor for statement production
- Investigate and resolve transactions posting exception items
- Monitor selected reports to ensure processing is accurate and complete
- Handle item processing issues
- Ensure reports are loaded into Director on a daily basis according to established procedures
- Reconcile and process check images into Director database
- Provide support to affiliated bank employees on daily processing issues
- Other duties as requested

Qualifications
- Minimum of two years post-secondary education or relevant work experience with emphasis in computer skills is preferred.

- Proficiency in MS Office, Excel, Word programs
Supervisory Responsibility
This position may have supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.

Job Type
This is a Full-Time position at our Sioux Falls, SD Full-time hours are approximately 34 – 40 hours/week.
Compensation
Pay range: $25-35 per hour
