DEPARTMENT: Human Resources REPORTS TO: FVP/Human Resources Manager
SUPERVISE: None FSLA STATUS: Exempt, Full-Time
CORE HOURS: Monday – Friday; 8a.m. – 5p.m. Evenings and weekend work expected as workload demands.

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for assisting in talent acquisition and recruitment by posting open job positions, pre-screening applicants, conducting pre-interviews, scheduling for testing and referring applicants to the hiring managers for consideration of open positions throughout the company. Additionally, they are responsible for conducting employee onboarding, assisting in the administration of benefit plans, assisting in employee relations matters, handling the administration of FMLA, STD, LTD and ADA paperwork, assisting in the administration of Performance Reviews, providing support to employees in various HR related topics and assisting the HR manager with meeting the obligations of the company’s Affirmative Action Program, performance issues, and various HR programs and initiatives within the organization. They will be expected to build and maintain the necessary relationships to help foster this goal by activities such as but not limited to: regularly meeting with department heads to develop specific recruiting plans, developing professional relationships with college, university and community placement offices, and participating in job/career fairs to generate qualified applicants. The individual in this position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of specialized functions within the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure and culture as well as an extensive knowledge of employment policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
- Associate's degree or higher preferred
- Minimum of Three Years of Human Resource Experience Required
- Recruitment Experience
- Knowledge of employment/labor laws
- Experience with a Human Resource Information System and/or Applicant Tracking Software System; UKG Ready Preferred
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication Skills
- Business Acumen
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establish employment standards and annual goals
- Develop recruiting sources that meet/exceed Company hiring goals
- Monitor and report on all employment processes and identify bottle necks
- Review job requisitions and post open positions on required internal and external sites
- Coordinate appropriate employment testing
- Perform pre-interviews and refer high quality candidates that meet hiring criteria to hiring managers
- Coordinate required background checks and pre-employment drug screening
- Coordinate employment offers and new hire on-boarding
- Conducts orientation of new employees
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations
- Tracks new hire eligibility for all company benefits ensuring timely and accurate enrollment and processing.
- Assist in monitoring the 90-day probationary evaluation period and address issues
- Maintain employee referral program.
- Assists with the bi-annual and annual employee Performance Reviews
- Processes and tracks FMLA, STD and LTD and ADA for all eligible employees.
- Complete weekly/monthly report on employment activity.
- Assist the Human Resources Manager with the Affirmative Action Program including prepare and submit the annual AA plan and working toward the plan goals
- Submit required EEO-1 and Veterans reports
- Work with Human Resources Manager and Department Managers on employee performance issues, ensuring compliance with Company standards
- Complete unemployment claims timely and assist HR Manager when attending unemployment administrative hearings
- Cross train on payroll and records processing and back-up the function as needed.
- Assists and provides back-up for functions performed by the Human Resource Manager as needed
