First Financial Bank has an immediate opening for a Mortgage Loan Officer in our office located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
The primary responsibility of this position is to develop referral sources, so as to achieve and maintain an ongoing loan pipeline.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : Duties include interviewing loan applicants, ordering credit reports, locking the rate with Investors, running Mortgage Insurance and Title closing quote, and checking for Red Flags. Correspond with applicants, creditors, and third parties such as Title Company, Real Estate Agents, Insurance Agents, etc. Recommends and outlines terms of loan. Loan responsibilities include gathering / analyzing the appropriate documents from borrowers including, but not limited to, bank statements, tax returns, k-1s, w-2s, and pay stubs. Must review and edit Encompass LOS input data, run automated underwriting, and prepare initial document set as needed. Develops and maintains interest rate structure that is consistent with financial institution policies and is competitive with current market. Notify applicant of loan decision. Reviews developing law, regulations, and Agency / Investor guidelines as they apply to secondary market loans. Corresponds with accounting, QC, Audit, and servicing as needed. Other duties as assigned by management.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE : Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Prior Mortgage Loan experience preferred. Good understanding of financial institution products and services.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES : This position requires someone with excellent organization skills and be able to work under strict deadlines. Must have good verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to handle multiple tasks and be a self-starter. Must be proficient in computer applications, calculators, fax machines, and copy machines. Requires excellent telephone etiquette and people skills.
