Learning and Development Specialist:
The Learning and Development Specialist is focused on organizing and leading the end-to-end design, execution and continuous development of new hire and ongoing talent development programs in alliance with the CU’s strategic plan and performance standards.
JOB DUTIES:
- Develop and facilitate live classroom, virtual environment courses and training programs to ensure team members are provided engaging and value-added learning solutions.
- Manage and facilitate the new hire onboarding program to drive knowledge and connection to the organization’s culture, values, policies, and procedures. Includes follow-up and MSS III training programs.
- Build learning experiences and techniques with the end-learner and business objectives in mind while leveraging best practices in technology, design, adult learning, videos, lectures, role playing and multimedia principles. Conduct training need-assessments, gap analysis, and evaluations of current training effectiveness.
- Facilitate the creation, implementation, and maintenance of guides and engaging learning content in a variety of formats.
- Provide project roll-out and user-testing support to ensure new program and system launches are successfully implemented.
- Manage annual training and track the progress of trainees through online assessments, observations, and participation.
- Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, in addition to all company policies.
- Supports the updates to the company intranet and acts as back up administrator

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Experience:
- Two to Five years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions required.
- Experience at a financial institution is required.
Education/Certifications/Licenses:
- A high school degree or GED is required

A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required to be an effective subject matter expert in the position. In-depth dialogues, conversations and explanations with members, direct and indirect reports and outside vendors of a sensitive and/or highly confidential nature is a normal part of the day-to-day experience. Communications can involve motivating, influencing, educating and/or advising others on matters of significance.

Physical Requirements:
Perform primarily sedentary work with limited physical exertion and occasional lifting of up to 10 lbs. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in emergency situation. Must be able to operate routine office equipment including telephone, copier, facsimile, and calculator. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
Working Conditions:
Must be able to routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with minimal noise.
