Hotel LeVeque is seeking a positive, competitive, energetic, creative, and highly self-motivated Director of Sales & Marketing to join our team. Someone who can bring an “Exactly Like Nothing Else” approach to the position. This person will solicit, negotiate, and book new and repeat business in the designated markets through various efforts and lead a highly motivated sales team.
The Director of Sales & Marketing will report to the General Manager and will work closely with the hotel’s entire sales, marketing, and Food & Beverage team.
- Using business tools and first-hand observation, analyze market competition, market trends, and identify client needs.
- Proactively solicit and secure business from new and prospective clients using proven sales strategies aligned with the hotel’s brand and vision.
- Achieve revenue and market share goals by working in conjunction with the Director of Revenue, supporting cross-segment selling tactics as needed.
- Manage client contract process including negotiation, provisions, and supplemental solution selling, capturing all information necessary for execution and billing.
- Coordinate and conduct site tours emphasizing features to meet client needs and opportunities to enhance overall satisfaction.
- Monitor achievement of objectives for the sales team and take appropriate action to correct shortfalls versus the annual marketing plan.
- Prepare and maintain a current annual marketing plan with measurable and specific initiatives detailed to maintain and grow each business segment.
- Engage in purposeful communication and build long-lasting rapport with clients, creating an open dialogue to uncover client expectations and unrealized needs.
- Promote hotel brand loyalty programs, encourage client participation, and offer special rate packages and upgrades when appropriate.
- Responsible for executing hotel marketing needs on property, including but not limited to activations, community engagement, journalist, and media stays, and serving as a brand ambassador for the hotel and outlets
- Research and make recommendations on transient rate promotions, group and catering packages, entertainment, and restaurant events based on current trends
- Effectively communicate with hotel departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client expectations, fulfillment of needs, and challenge resolution.
- Work closely with social media champion to create a monthly content calendar to post pre-scheduled content and in-the-moment stories, videos, etc. on all of our social media platforms.
- Always maintain professionalism consistent with hotel brand and company expectations.
- 2 years of sales experience, preferably in hotels or related field
- 4-year degree in hospitality management or sales preferred, or equivalent experience and education
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including electronic communication
- Must be able to speak, read, and write in the primary language used in the workplace
- 8 hours per day sitting desk/computer; stand and walk occasionally throughout workday
- Lift, lower, and maneuver up to 10 pounds occasionally
- Manual dexterity and repetitive motions required throughout the workday
