What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Orthodontic Assistant position at First Impression Orthodontics?
A modern, high tech orthodontic office is looking for an Clinical Orthodontic Assistant/Technician for our Alexandria, VA office.
Dental or orthodontic experience is required. Must love working with patients, willing to learn and have a positive upbeat attitude. If you love making people smile, this is the place for you.
Below are some but not all of the duties:
- Promotes an atmosphere supportive of good dental and general health by demonstrating good oral hygiene, questioning patients to ascertain home care status, instructing patients in techniques of flossing and brushing in accordance with protocol.
- Motivate patients in order to achieve the very best results from orthodontic treatment.
- Greets patients in waiting area and escorts patients to the treatment area.
- Assists the orthodontist in the administration of treatment at the chair side as required or directed by the orthodontist.
- Maintain a sterile and neat working environment according to current infection control procedures.
- Review the patient history, make chart entries under the direction of the orthodontist and assure completion of forms and signatures.
- Stock operatories and maintain clinical supply inventory.
- Review daily schedule to set up appropriate trays and instruments.
- Placement and removal of orthodontic appliances. This includes educating the patient on it's purpose and how to care for them.
- Makes appointments and maintains all calendar functions including meetings and vacations.
- Takes records and updates patient charts
