What are the responsibilities and job description for the Loan Associate position at First International Bank & Trust?

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Loan Associate to support our loan officers in managing loan documentation, verifying credit information, and ensuring smooth loan processing in compliance with banking regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercial and agricultural lending, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
This is an in-office position.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process complex loans with minimal assistance.
- Collaborate with Loan Officers and Credit Analysts to input data into loan software for underwriting.
- Gather and order initial collateral information.
- Work with Loan Operations to prepare and order loan documentation.
- Handle loan closings in Loan Officer’s absence.
- Ensure timely loan funding and lien documentation recording.
- Manage incoming documentation and communication to collect missing information.
- Assist clients with inquiries and requests.
- Mentor and train Loan Associate team members.

Qualifications:
- Associate degree from two-year college or technical school; a minimum of one-year related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
