As the Financial Data Analyst, you will provide data analysis and reporting support for the Finance team, lines of business and senior management. Additionally, you will have a key role in enhancing the Finance department’s existing data infrastructure, reporting and analytics.
What You Will Do
- Serve as a liaison between the Financial Data, Business Intelligence and Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) teams
- Assist in the preparation and delivery of enhanced business line reporting packages
- Assist in the development of ad hoc analysis and other reporting projects including Funds Transfer Pricing, Organizational Profitability, Client Profitability and daily financial statements
- Support the FP&A and Business Intelligence teams to enhance existing reporting and analytics
- Translate technical data analysis into business-friendly language, presenting solutions to stakeholders and management
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business needs and provide actionable insight
- Assist in the development of key financial dashboards for lines of business and senior management
- Develop and enhance existing reporting analytics available in the company’s financial management software
- Contribute new ideas to improve efficiency and quality of financial reports
- Perform other duties as assigned
- A bachelors or masters degree in finance, accounting, informatics or economics
- A minimum of one year of financial analysis or accounting work experience highly preferred
- Open to recent graduates who possess required educational background, with strong academic and experiential learning or internship experience highly preferred
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities under tight timeframes, and to organize and prioritize tasks and complete them in a time efficient manner
- Experience writing data queries a plus
- Strong communication, organization, presentation, analytical and leadership skills
- Attention to detail, ability to learn new concepts or tasks quickly
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of products, with enhanced proficiency in Excel
- Experience in relational databases and SQL is a plus
- Function comfortably in a highly dynamic, ever-changing environment
- Understanding of accounting principles including general application
- Previous experience with Axiom software a plus
- Professional office setting.
- Primarily sedentary position requiring long periods of time working at a computer.
- Must be able to move throughout the office and buildings to obtain or relay information.
- Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
