About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cash Handling Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our banking operations, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service and handling daily teller transactions in both lobby and drive-up locations. This role also involves developing and maintaining client relationships by recognizing referral opportunities for additional retail products and other lines of business.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide customer account services, including receiving deposits and loan payments, cashing checks, issuing savings withdrawals, and recording night and mail deposits.
- Answer customer inquiries in person and over the phone.
- Record customer account transactions by logging cashier checks, travelers' checks, and other special services, as well as preparing currency transaction reports.
- Cross-sell bank products by answering customer inquiries, informing customers of new services and product promotions, and directing customers to a branch representative.
- Complete special customer requests, such as closing accounts, taking orders for checks, opening and closing Christmas and vacation clubs, exchanging foreign currencies, and providing special statements, copies, and referrals.
- Reconcile cash drawers by verifying cash transactions, counting and packaging currency and coins, reconciling loan coupons and other transactions, turning in excess cash and mutilated currency to the Teller Group Leader, and maintaining a supply of cash and currency.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
- 1-3 years of experience in a cash handling role is preferred.
- Excellent mathematical aptitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Able to handle sensitive confidential information.
