What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler Teacher position at First Kids Academy?
Teachers
Teachers will be the one responsible for providing supervision of the children in the class as well as maintaining a nurturing and safe environment. Lead teachers will report to the director.
Teacher Requirements:
- Meet all requirements for caregivers set forth in the minimum standards and provide all paperwork required.
- Physical abilities including being able to actively participate with children, acting swiftly in emergency situations, getting up and down on the floor, standing for long periods of time, lift up to 30 pounds.
- Completed Background Checks
- Preservice Training or Prior Licensed Childcare experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification
- High School Diploma/GED
Teacher Hours:
· Full Time-35-40
· Early/Late shift twice a week
Teacher Responsibilities
· Ensure that all Minimum Standards are met in the classroom.
· Provide supervision of children in the classroom, during transitions, on playground, and at all times.
· Be familiar with and able to execute the emergency procedures if needed.
· Communicate effectively with parents and other staff.
· Implement the provided curriculum in an effective and developmentally appropriate way.
· Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
· Complete daily required checklists.
· Keep an updated name/face checklist.
· Attend all required trainings and meetings.
· Discipline children with respect in a loving and positive way.
· Turn in lesson plans and supply lists on Tuesdays for the next week.
· Post weekly lesson plans for parents to view.
· Adapt for individual needs and differences in the classroom.
· Evaluate the progress of the students in the class.
· Make sure all supplies are clean and are properly checked in to the supply room.
· Set up classrooms at the beginning of the year and clean up and complete checklists at the end of the year.
· Clean and sanitize tables and floors after serving a snack or meal.
· Keep shared areas clean and free of clutter.
· Attend and help with all FKA events outside of the regular work day and remain at the event until the event is over.
· Document incidences daily and report them to the director.
· Maintain confidentiality regarding the students in the classroom.
· Send home daily communication appropriate to the age of the children in your care.
· Ensure that all children in your care are kept clean and sent home clean. This includes but is not limited to: washing hands, cleaning faces, changing diapers, changing clothes when necessary.
· Enforce safety guidelines are followed in your classroom and on the playground.
· Follow guidelines in student and staff handbooks.
· Create a positive, Christian learning environment in your classroom.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $10.50 - $13.00 per hour
