What are the responsibilities and job description for the Regional Director - Child Care Centers position at First Learning?
Purpose:
To be responsible for the leadership, performance, and profitability of a group of centersby ensuring that center Administrators are performing the duties necessary to provide a safe, nurturing and educational environment of the highest quality for children, parents, and staff, and maintaining a quality program so that families remain enrolled in the center and benefit from the Center's programs and services. Lead the areas of training, QUALITYstarsNY, accreditation and curriculum for the company.

Reports To: Executive Director of Operations
Responsibilities:
Program / Administration:
· Ensuring that your centers are adhering to and enforcing all the policies and procedures of Care-a-lot Child Care and the childcare licensing regulations of New York State
· Ensuring that your centers are in accordance with governmental laws/state mandates (Health Dept., CACFP, etc.)
· Maintaining program quality at your centers to meet state/national accreditation standards, specifically QUALITYstarsNY
· Ensuring the implementation of an age and developmentally appropriate, open-ended program of the highest quality at your centers that supports learning through play
- Overseeing QUALITYstarsNY program for all centers to ensure centers are in compliance, ready for recertification, and that new centers are certified in a timely manner.
- Overseeing training for all centers to ensure that the remain in compliance with NYS/OCFS requirements
- Overseeing Aspire for all centers, i.e.: monitoring accounts, on boarding on new locations.
- Selecting and training centers with an accredited curriculum
- Leading company efforts for achieving accreditation
- Evaluating and implementing systems such as Pyramid Model, etc.
· Supporting the integration of acquired facilities and the hiring of Admin staff
· Meeting agreed upon deadlines
· Providing timely updates on projects
· Utilizing data to establish and measure center performance on a regular basis
· Communicating frequently and effectively with staff
· Guarding and protecting all information of a confidential manner
· Assisting and rendering staff support to all classrooms and employees as necessary
· Participating in professional conferences, ongoing training or educational opportunities to remain current in the field
· Completing 15 hours of early childhood training within the first 6 months and every year thereafter
· Support centers in absence of the Director or Assistant Director
- Additional responsibilities as assigned by management
Personnel/Supervision:
· Training Admin staff in areas of responsibility listed above, and monitoring Admin performance to ensure that training was successful
· Communicating effectively and directly with all staff
· Serving in the absence of other staff as necessary
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
· Knowledge of NYS childcare regulations
· Knowledge of child development, early childhood education programming, and national accreditation criteria
· Knowledge of and ability to supervise developmentally appropriate practices and age appropriate activities
· Knowledge of first aid procedures
· Effective, professional, timely, courteous, and tactful oral and written communication skills
· Effective supervisory skills and role modeling practices
· Ability to maintain positive relationships with children, co-workers, and parents
· Ability to use sound judgment and tact
· Ability to lead and motivate a team
· Ability to organize, problem solve and respond to emergencies effectively
· Knowledge of community resources
· Flexibility (especially in scheduling and practice to respond to program needs)
· Creativity and patience
Requirements:
· Able to lift approximately 30 pounds from the floor to a waist high table
· Able to reach a child 20 - 30 feet away within 30 seconds
· Able to crouch to a child's height, maintain eye contact at the child's level, and sit on the floor for extended periods of time
· Good health as confirmed by a physician's statement and proof of being free of tuberculosis
· New York State Registry clearance
· Criminal History Fingerprint clearance
Training and Experience:
· B.A. Degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development or related field
OR
NYS Administrator Credential AND at least one year each of teaching and supervisory experience;
OR
Associates Degree in ECE or related field OR Child Development Assoc. AND
at least two years each of teaching and supervisory experience AND
a plan of study leading to a Bachelor’s degree or NYS Children’s Program Administrator Credential, AND
· Prefer one-year experience with office management or financial record keeping AND
· Demonstrated commitment to and interest in professional growth through education, work experience and involvement with the early childhood community
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
