What are the responsibilities and job description for the Merchandising Lead position at First Light Resorts Llc?
First Light Resorts is looking for a Merchandising Lead to assist the Director of Retail in supporting the retail operations of all three of our locations just outside of Yosemite National Park. The ideal candidate will be passionate about creating an organized, productive environment while also assisting with General Store operations as needed. The Merchandising Lead will receive and process all deliveries across all lodges and work closely with the Director of Retail and Retail Managers in many areas including establishing pricing, best practices, inventory management, training and coaching and more. Additionally as needed, this position will provide warm, heartfelt hospitality to external and internal guests. The ideal candidate will also have the ability to work as part of a team at all times, ability to give clear and concise communication and direction.
Essential Job Functions
- Support coworkers and colleagues
- Receive and process all deliveries, including management of inventory across lodges
- Work closely with the Retail Director to establish pricing on all merchandise and adjust pricing as necessary
- Input new merchandise into the inventory control system, adjust the inventory on-hand and communicate the stores needs to the Retail Director
- Work closely with the Retail Managers to understand their inventory and communicate what product should be rotated on to the sales floor
- Adjust sale pricing as required and get approval for mark downs from the Retail Director
- Work with the Retail Director to establish store presentation and merchandising/ coach store teams on maintaining presentation and stock levels
- Provide training or product knowledge to all employees about incoming receipts
- Ability to stock, clean, organize, and rotate grocery and walk-in cooler/ FIFO
- Ability to fill, fold, organize, and replace backstock of apparel displays/ giving the store team direction as necessary
- Ability to fill, organize, and replace backstock of souvenirs & gifts/ giving the store team direction as necessary
- Ability to maintain organization of all storage spaces
- Support the decisions and actions of the Retail Manager, Retail Director and General Manager
- Operate POS and interact with guests in a friendly, helpful manner when necessary.
- Operate espresso machine with appropriate training when necessary
- Actively promote other departments within the lodge
- Frequent walking, twisting, bending, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, squatting, climbing stairs
- Ability to stand and move continuously throughout shift
- Lifting up to 50 pounds maximum and moving carts weighing up to 300 pounds
Non-essential Job Functions
- Actively contribute to the community efforts of the lodge
- Support the youth internship program
- Work in coordination with other departments to maximize the seamless effort of an amazing guest experience
- Help deliver a positive, consistent lodge experience for guests
Requirements
- Previous management experience or the equivalent
- Excellent money handling skills
- Possess/ ability to possess Food Handling Certification
- Strong visual/spatial organization skills
- Strong communication skills
- Attention to detail and ability to multi task
- Friendly personality
- Appropriate attire and personal hygiene
