Job Title:

Maintenance Worker

Part-time, non-benefited position

Preferred Experience and Education:

• High school diploma General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or technical school diploma/certificate.
• Minimum of two years experience in maintenance, construction, plumbing, electrical, or HVAC industries, or evidence of competency in these areas.

Position Requirements:

• Must be able to perform required duties and responsibilities of the position which include standing for extended periods of time, bending, stooping, and lifting at least fifty pounds.
• Must be able to read blueprints and written manuals.
• Must have effective oral and written communication skills.
• Experience with (or working knowledge of) power tools, hand tools, etc.
• Must be able to pass a background screening.

Position Responsibilities:

• Responsible for regular inspection of Church, grounds, and equipment to identify repair and maintenance needs.
• Maintain church equipment, including power tools, hand tools, electrical tools, and plumbing tools.
• Report maintenance concerns and problems to the Pastor.
• Report to the Pastor any issues which are hindering or preventing the performing of the duties or responsibilities of the position.
• Complete necessary repairs and maintenance in a timely manner.
• Perform maintenance tasks including plumbing, electrical, and drywall repair, painting, and other minor repairs.
• Create and maintain a Facilities Maintenance Log to insure routine maintenance and inspection of all facility systems and property.
• Collaborate with staff and members on completion of assigned projects.
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local building codes.
• Set up rooms for scheduled events.
• Comply with all First Lutheran safety guidelines.
• Other duties as assigned.

Conditions of Employment:

• 10 hours a week, Monday – Thursday / 9:00am – 11:30pm. (Minimum)
• Additional hours may be worked when needed.
• $15.00 per Hour
• An Employee Review will be completed annually.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 10 per week
