What are the responsibilities and job description for the Church Pianist position at First Lutheran Community Church?
Qualifications
- Be at 18 least years of age.
- Must submit to a Washington state background check
- Able to play a variety of music on the piano or keyboard
- Able to relate and communicate well with people from all backgrounds, socioeconomic status and ages.
- Able to work with the Music Coordinator
- Bring a passion for music and performance to our team as we create memorable experiences
Education
- High School graduation or equivalent. (at discretion of Pastor)
Responsibilities:
- Perform live piano music during worship services
- Work with Pastor and Music Coordinator to plan music for all services including selecting appropriate music pieces that align with the theme of services
- Prepare music beforehand for practices and services
- Accompany the Praise Team and choir which includes practices
- Be available (when possible) for special events, such as funerals, weddings, Lent and Christmas Eve Services
- Look for ways to improve overall sound, performances and spiritual experiences through music
- Attend FLCC staff meetings if necessary
- Other duties as assigned.
- Accountable to: Lead Pastor
You will work will the Pastor and Music Coordinator. You must be able to work Sundays. Additional day(s) during the week as needed.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 6 per week
Work Location: In person
