What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Camp Counselor position at First Lutheran School?
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and engage with a group of campers in various activities and programs
- Plan and lead age-appropriate games, sports, arts and crafts, and other recreational activities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times
- Assist with meal times, including serving food and monitoring camper behavior
- Provide guidance and support to campers in resolving conflicts and promoting positive behavior
- Collaborate with other camp staff to create a fun and inclusive environment for all campers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of camp facilities
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, such as in a daycare, childcare, or babysitting setting
- Knowledge or experience in education, early childhood education, tutoring, or childhood development is a plus
- Ability to effectively communicate and engage with children of various ages
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to work well within a team
- Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, sports coaching, theater, or other recreational pursuits is desired
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but not required
