Freelance Food Stylist, So Yummy

We are looking for talented freelance Food Stylists to join a talented group of producers on our North Hollywood in-studio So Yummy team. From ideation through production, our Food Stylists contribute creatively and stylistically and are the very hands appearing in their videos.

Stylists must have experience with video styling and be knowledgeable about food safety. The Stylist will work out of our studio kitchen and use our kitchen tools, props, and equipment. 

One in-studio prep day may be required as well as one shoot day. 

Duties include:

• Take instructions from the food stylist manager, and read brand guidelines.
• Make a shopping list based on shotlist and other shoot details, send list to food stylist manager before prep day.
• Ensure nails and cuticles are neat and camera ready
• Receive ingredients on prep day and prep as much as possible for the shoot including gathering appropriate props.
• Arrive on shoot day at call time and be on set as much as possible to handle all tabletop props and food styling.
• When food needs to be edible for talent, be aware of talent’s dietary restrictions and ensure everything is food safe (previously cold foods should only stay out for 4 hours, previously hot foods should only stay out for 2 hours)
• After the shoot wraps, return all props, hand wash prop linens, wash all dishes and tools, discard all set food, fully clean station, hot plate, and clear fridge shelf, and return client product to the original location
• Pack a bin for the off-site shoots when necessary and ensure all items are clean and returned to the bin upon wrap
• Check-in with food stylist manager before leaving to ensure all duties have been completed
