We are currently seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant/Med Tech to join our team.

Job Summary: The Medical Assistant/Med Tech will support our healthcare providers by ensuring efficient patient flow, assisting with clinical procedures, and maintaining accurate patient records. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with medical software systems. Knowledge of Athenahealth EMR is a positive. The ideal candidate must be bilingual in Spanish and English to effectively communicate with our diverse patient population.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
• Take and record vital signs, medical histories, and patient information.
• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are clean and well-stocked.
• Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens for testing.
• Administer medications and injections as directed by the healthcare provider.
• Provide patient education and instructions for follow-up care.
• Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient check-in/check-out process.
• Update and maintain accurate patient records in the Athenahealth EMR system.
• Handle patient inquiries and direct them to the appropriate staff members.
• Ensure patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
• Perform administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and scanning documents.
• Maintain a professional and compassionate attitude towards patients and staff.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as a Medical Assistant or Med Tech preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical assisting role in a primary care setting.
• Proficiency with Athenahealth EMR system is highly preferred.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is required.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Basic life support (BLS) certification is a plus.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures.
• Compassionate, patient-focused attitude with a professional demeanor.

Work Hours:

• Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
• No stitching, casting, or other advanced clinical procedures required.
