What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at First Metals & Plastics, Inc?
We are a family-owned business looking for an experienced CNC Programmer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in CNC programming utilizing MasterCam, as well as experience with Haas, Mazak, and Okuma CNC machines. The successful candidate will be able to read and interpret blueprints, set up and operate machines, and troubleshoot any issues that arise. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Hours:
Monday through Thursday, 5:00am - 3:30pm, 30 minute lunch
Willing to work overtime as needed
Responsibilities:
- Programming of CNC Milling and Lathe Production equipment utilizing MasterCam
- Set up and operation of CNC machines
- Basic upkeep and corrections to programs
- Provide fixturing and tooling improvement solutions as needed
- Assists in on-the-job training of department personnel
- Adhere to company Quality Management System
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Available to work overtime if needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills: Programming CNC Mills and Lathes (minimum of 3 years experience required)
- Knowledge of cutting tool applications and machining methods
- Experience programming with Mastercam
- Strong understanding of machining speeds and feeds
- Must be able to understand part prints and work instructions to determine specific part requirements
