Range of Responsibility : Under general supervision, but according to established policies and procedures, work closely with commercial loan officers in putting together loan packages for consideration by the board of directors. Accompany loan officers calling on customers when requested; develop and analyze all types of credit information pertaining to diversified types of commercial loans; prepare credit reports for loan officers or committees; maintain control over credit requirements of current accounts; furnish information relative to credit inquiries; and provide any other assistance to loan officers as requested.
Essential Functions :
Develop credit information for use by lending officers or committees in making lending decisions on new, renewal and extension loans :Review all pertinent credit and financial information, including reporting services, credit bureaus, savings and loan associations or banks, and bank files.Determine the need for more thorough investigation or additional information, and contact appropriate sources for such information.Prepare all spreadsheet and financial information.Analyze financial statements and related material.Prepare summary, present facts, and offer opinions concerning creditworthiness to loan officers or committees.Ensure that financial statements for loans are monitored where it is required by policy. Maintain current financial information (less than one year old) in loan file. Mail request letters and conduct phone calls if necessary.Note and document trends in borrower’s financial statements.Review current grade of credit and recommend grade change to Credit Administration Manager if warranted.Perform related duties as assigned.Marginal Functions :
Prepare various reports for inclusion in the board packets as requested by the Credit Administration Manager.Prepare statistical lending reports as requested by the Credit Administration Manager.Work with Loan Officers in preparing quarterly Criticized Loan Action Plans.Bank Secrecy Act Duties :
In the performance of respective tasks and duties, this position must maintain knowledge of Bank Secrecy Act regulations and all other regulatory, security, and Bank policies and procedures.Company Conformance :
In compliance with all applicable regulations and Bank policies, this position is expected to successfully produce quality work within deadlines, with or without supervision; interact professionally with other employees, customers, and vendors, while always respecting the need for confidentiality of customer information. The employee will work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments and work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations. Furthermore, the employee is encouraged to actively represent the Bank to customers and the general public in ways that promote the integrity, validity, and mission of the Bank by participating in community organizations, events, and activities. The employee is also expected to maintain a commitment to continuing education in the banking field through self-study and both in-house and outside training opportunities in all applicable banking policies, procedures, and regulations.Regular and punctual attendance is expected, and appropriate attire is required at all times, while either performing job functions or representing the Bank at outside events and activities.Requirements :
Required Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or equivalent combination of course work and / or relevant work experience.
Must also have the following demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities :
Ability to maintain objectivity and independence.Ability to read, comprehend and technically apply written policies, procedures and regulations.Ability to read and comprehend various types of loan and related support documentation.Knowledge of financial terms such as depreciation, amortization, quick cash flow, quick ratio, liquidity ratio, debt coverage ratio, debt service ratio, debt yield, etc.Ability to apply basic number sense to financial spreads to effectively point out trends, red flags, and or significant points that may affect underwriting decisions.Ability to diplomatically yet effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of bank staff, directors, regulators, customers, and tax preparers in requesting detailed financial information and / or explanation of financial information / analysis.Knowledge and understanding of commercial tax returns for all types of business entities.Ability to use bank equipment, computer systems including PC applications using spreadsheet, word processing, and database software; proficiency in Microsoft WORD and EXCEL.
