Essential Job Functions: The role of the Accounting Clerk (EIP Processing) is to perform routine balancing and accounting responsibilities according to procedures. The Accounting Clerk will verify all exceptions items, including chargeback and NSF items and maintain records while maintaining accuracy.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Review daily EIP report and report erroneous items as appropriate
- Responsible for reviewing daily NSF reports
- Review & handle all items presented for Chargeback
- Reconciles assigned internal GL and DDA accounts monthly
- Reviews all account maintenance
- Responsible for reviewing Premier Print reports daily
- Reviews all Saving Bond Redemptions for accuracy
- Back up for processing all Foreign Currency requests
- Back up for processing currency/coin orders & shipments
- Responsible for processing Written Statement of Unauthorized Debits accordingly
- Responsible for completing Breach of Warranty when necessary
- Monitor Operations E-Mail box
- Provides customer service and support to CSR’s
- Provides backup for OPCS reporting and ICS balancing
- Provides backup for DDA Control balancing and Positive Pay Reporting
- Provides backup for daily cash balancing and ATM balancing
- Provides backup for mobile deposits review
- Provides backup for submitting and reviewing wire transfers
Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with accounting, security and audit procedures
- Adhere to all applicable policies and procedures
Skills/Qualifications: Must have a strong background with MS Office Products, accounting and familiarity with accounting functions. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with computers and calculators. Financial Services experience. Accounting knowledge to reconcile account and balance debits and credits. Organizational skills and communication skills.
Education and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher in a related field preferred. One or more years of previous banking or accounting experience required.
Physical Requirements: This position requires a high degree of mobility. May be subject to prolonged sitting/standing, frequent use of hands and upper body to manipulate/grasp objects/branch equipment, ability to communicate face to face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, lifting of 1 – 30 lbs. Must be able to travel by vehicle to branches/meetings/seminars, and so forth as needed.
