Description
Function: Under general supervision, the Facility Supervisor is responsible for maintaining the buildings and grounds at multiple locations throughout Washington and Hancock counties. Also responsible for keeping the company vehicles, equipment, facilities, and furniture in good repair. Organizes and maintains document storage areas and the purchase, storage and delivery of supplies. Responsible for the hiring and monitoring of third party vendors for cleaning and any required assistance with these functions including building renovations. Assists the security officer as needed with the overall security of the facilities
Work Hours: Part of the day may require working either before 8 a.m., after 5 p.m., after noon on Saturday or anytime Sunday may be required occasionally. The normal workweek will be 40 hours with occasional overtime required. Hours worked will be adjusted as needed to meet the cleaning & maintenance needs of the location to avoid disruption of normal business hours.
Duties:
- Monitors email, helpdesk and direct phone calls to provides outstanding customer service to all bank employees.
- Maintains a positive, friendly, professional image in dealing with a broad range of Bank employees and clients.
- Performs minor building and fixture repairs including plumbing, heating, painting, lighting, and furniture repair.
- Performs (or hires) building upkeep including seasonal window and carpet cleaning.
- Maintains compliance with and is abreast of all OSHA regulations.
- Maintains work areas and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations.
- Ensures company vehicles are in good mechanical order at all times.
- Organizes and maintains document storage areas.
- Orders (those items that are not processed through Corporate Express), purchases, stores, and delivers supplies for all branch locations as needed in conjunction with other departments.
- Ensures that mail is delivered and that stamp machine is kept in good working order as needed in conjunction with other departments.
- Performs periodic and random building inspections and prepares reports as necessary; advises facilities manager of deficiencies and makes remedial efforts to correct deficiencies.
- May oversee third party vendors/ contractors on various facility related projects
- May perform other duties as needed.
Requirements
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED required as a minimum; also, a 4-year degree with technical training in facilities maintenance preferred plus at least three years progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field, two of which were holding a supervisory position directing a multi-functional maintenance staff or the equivalent plus at least six years applicable experience OR a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Must have complete knowledge of cleaning techniques and equipment and ability to perform all cleaning duties.
- Ability to solve and perform basic handyman duties including carpentry, electrical, painting, plumbing, HVAC, mechanical equipment, yard care, flooring, and other routine maintenance trades.
- Self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills.
- Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills.
- Familiar with local building codes and OSHA regulations.
- A valid Maine Driver’s License is required.
- Strong supervisory skills
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to:
- stand, walk, climb (ladders, stairs, etc.), bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, scoop and sit for extended periods of time.
- lift objects of up to 100 pounds
- look at a video display terminal for extended periods of time.
- hear accurately.
- physically handle paperwork on a consistent basis.
- drive a minimum of 200 miles per round trip on a frequent basis.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
The work performed is in a typical office environment with moderate to loud noise due to various equipment and machinery. There is regular exposure to other environmental conditions such as dust, odors, oil, fumes, and noise. Travel may be required on a frequent basis with exposure to weather conditions.
