Description
Function: Responsible for safeguarding the physical security of bank branches and ITM locations. Works with management to ensure security protocols are followed throughout the Bank. Acknowledge and mitigate current security risks and prepare for future risks through monitoring of security trends and issues.
Duties:
- Work with management at all locations to ensure all personnel follow security protocols related to factors, including:
- Access control
- All clear signals
- Dual control/entry
- Conduct an annual security review of each location to identify and address any risks.
- Ensure staff are periodically trained on all aspects of physical security, including robbery, alarm response and other relevant training.
- Work with local law enforcement to conduct surveys of each building, learn response protocols and procedures and create a mutually cooperative relationship.
- Oversight of ITM Security – conduct/arrange for skimmer detection training, skimmer response, and overall management and risk assessment of the fleet’s physical security.
- Security systems – assume responsibility for the functionality, maintenance and upgrade of the Bank’s physical security systems including but not limited to cameras, alarms, etc.
- Create a Security Advisory Group that would include, among others, Branch Operations Officer, and the Branch Operations Leads. The purpose of the group is to share information related to:
- Reducing physical security hazards/prevention of incidents.
- Streamline concerns and share results on solutions that have worked in various locations.
- Review and monitor completed monthly security checklists and develop corrective action plans as needed.
- Review and update the bank’s security manual and prepare for board approval annual.
- Monitor incident reports for physical security issues as well as for any problem customer concerns and address as necessary.
- As needed, work with the bank’s controller on the renewal of the bank’s property/casualty insurance.
- Analyze data from various security providers, such as Northeast Security to review trends and see if any improvements can be made.
- Attend Security training sessions on an annual basis.
- Participate in the annual DR/BCP continuity exercises.
- Work with CBO to update and maintain BCP plans for the branch group.
- All other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required as a minimum
- College degree preferred or a comparable combination of education and experience.
- Banking experience in physical security and facilities preferred.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Tech-savvy, comfortable with modern office productivity tools.
- Positive, proactive problem-solving attitude.
- Excellent trouble shooting and diagnostic skills.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Stand, walk, climb, bend, kneel, stoop, push, pull, scoop and sit for extended periods of time.
- A valid Maine Driver’s License is required.
