What are the responsibilities and job description for the Branch Manager position at First New York Federal Credit Union?
Demonstrates a highly motivated, positive, outgoing personality to ensure that unsurpassed member service is continuously provided by every team member. Maximizes every opportunity to increase membership, refer consumer and real estate loans as well as promote e-services to the membership during business community outreach as well as in the branch. Must possess skills to motivate team members to work together to achieve goals. Is accountable for meeting goals established for the branch. Level based on branch transactions.
Duties & Responsibilities
Member Services:
- Motivates all team members to provide an unsurpassed level of member service, meeting and exceeding their expectations with every interaction. Ensures a smooth working relationship with other department team members when their assistance is needed.
- Accurately take applications for Consumer loan products and provide referrals to the Loan Sales team for Real Estate loan products. Assist in processing and closing Consumer loans.
- Provide real estate loan referrals to the Loan Sales team.
- Disburse Consumer and Real Estate loans.
- Participates in the Sales Incentive Program.
- Refer appropriate members to the First New York Retirement and Investment Services Program.
- Manages the relationship building activities of branch staff to ensure that we are consistently deepening the relationship with our members.
- Resolves member problems and responds to inquiries beyond the authority of other team members.
- Ensures member complaints are responded to in compliance with the Complaint Policy.
- Ensures that adequate staffing is maintained at all times to provide unsurpassed member service.
Operations:
- Oversees the daily operations of the branch according to written branch operations standards, including adherence to security and audit procedures. Recommends alterations and revisions to branch policies and procedures to the Vice President of Member Services and/or the AVP of Branch Operations.
- Responsible for determining that proper control and individual accountability of cash and the handling of cash is properly controlled and handled in accordance with regulations and accepted accounting principles.
- Assures both account and loan servicing issues or concerns are processed correctly and resolution is communicated to the member in a timely manner. Illustrates the ability to analyze member problems and find beneficial solutions in a timely manner.
- Has a thorough knowledge of products and services. Ensures that all team members have complete knowledge of products and services.
- Authorizes exceptions to normal policy or procedures when circumstances warrant and where deviation is justified.
- Follows and ensures that all team members follow policies and procedures applicable to their positions to maintain compliance with government and credit union regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Ensures that new employees are thoroughly trained in all phases of their particular job. Cross-trains staff as appropriate.
- Prepares or oversees preparation of daily cash replenishment and may assist with vault cash verification in conjunction with other branch supervisors. Replenished CDM’s, ITM’s, TCR’s as needed and performs audits in accordance with written procedures.
- Records, and may approve, all sick leave, vacation leave, personal leave, overtime and time cards/sheets for the branch along with maintaining employee attendance records and scheduling.
- Monitors security and loss prevention procedures.
- Completes realistic and timely appraisals of team member performance.
- Advises AVP of Branch Operations of training needs and/or operational issues.
- Holds periodic meetings, and produces written minutes, with team members to keep updated on overall goals of credit union and informed of any policies or procedural changes.
- Maintain Notary Public, NMLS designation and Signature Guarantee services.
Community Outreach:
- Meets with current and potential member groups in branch geographic area to promote member growth.
- Responsible for having consistent community outreach including, but limited to, attending local chamber events, participating in the Credit Union sponsored community outreach events, involvement in fraternal organizations and other appropriate events or activities.
- Responsible for attaining annual outreach goals for this position.
- Responsible for making sales calls to local businesses promoting our business services and/or a business partner relationship as an employee benefit.
- Goals related to the number of outreach activities will be set in accordance with Credit Union annual goals.
- Other duties as may be assigned.
- Minimum 5 years financial institution branch experience, 4-year College degree or equivalent educational or work experience. Three years of direct supervisory experience.
- Thorough knowledge of financial institution policies and procedures.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate team members.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Have a thorough knowledge of PC software programs and internet navigation.
Work Schedule: Varied Mon. – Fri. 8:00am – 6:00pm Sat. 9:00am – 1:00pm
