Membership Development Officer

The goal of the position is to generate growth in membership and Business and School Partners by networking, prospecting, and other activities. The MDO will represent First New York at outreach events, business and school partner events, and other opportunities. The MDO assists in growing the KIDS Banking Program.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Research and prospect opportunities to expand the overall membership, Business Partner and School Banking adoption.
• Cultivate relationships with Business Partners and Schools to enhance employee benefits and boost membership.
• Represent First New York at outreach events, partner meetings, school events, and other community opportunities.
• Participate in the development of marketing strategies to increase school and Business Partner membership.
• Assist the SMDO in executing First New York events, such as Membership Appreciation Days.
• Utilize sales and service skills to meet member needs professionally and promptly.
• Introduce and educate partners about new products and services.
• Analyze partner needs and recommend tailored sales strategies.
• Stay updated on field of membership, legal compliance, and competitors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, public relations or related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Significant experience and aptitude in sales or marketing.
• Financial institution experience preferred.
• Must be able to work successfully both independently with limited supervision and in a team environment.
• Must possess a reliable vehicle. The credit union reimburses all work-related mileage.
• Must have strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Current knowledge and experience with PCs and Microsoft programs.
• Must have strong organizational and planning skills.

Work Schedule: 40-hour work week, varied, non-traditional schedule, courtesy time included
