A Day in the Life of a Manager, Project Director
As a Manager, Project Director you are the driving force behind high-impact projects, ensuring they stay on track, within budget, and exceed expectations. Your day starts with strategizing-developing and overseeing project plans, schedules, and budgets while leading teams toward seamless execution. You'll provide strong leadership, assign tasks, and ensure all moving parts align for success. Clear and proactive communication with stakeholders will be key as you provide updates, address concerns, and keep everyone aligned with project goals.
When challenges arise, you'll be the problem-solver-identifying risks, implementing strategic solutions, and ensuring momentum never slows. You'll conduct project reviews, analyze performance, and drive continuous improvement to optimize future success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project management from planning to completion, ensuring scope, budget, and timeline alignment.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute project strategies.
- Oversee subcontractor selection, proposal approval, and budget adherence.
- Manage schedules, crew assignments, and problem resolution.
- Maintain job site safety, compliance, and quality control.
- Provide hands-on support when needed, including physical labor.
- Monitor project budgets, gross profit margins, and financial risks.
- Approve and manage change orders to maintain cost efficiency.
- Conduct audits and ensure accurate job cost tracking in Salesforce.
- Ensure timely invoicing, collections, and financial reporting.
- Act as a liaison between clients, claims teams, operations, and business development.
- Build and maintain professional industry relationships and sales pipelines.
- Provide exceptional customer service and ensure all client deliverables meet expectations.
- Negotiate claims, settlements, and project terms with insurance companies.
- Develop mitigation scopes, budgets, and estimates using Xactimate, T&M, or other tools.
- Gather field data, perform calculations, and document job progress.
- Prepare bid and RFP packages, review estimates, and audit financial details.
- Track project metrics and ensure adherence to company standards.
- Conduct daily job site safety meetings and enforce all regulatory requirements.
- Provide crisis management, conflict resolution, and operational support.
- Motivate teams, ensure adherence to policies, and align strategic objectives.
- Remain available for 24/7 response as needed.
Experience:
- 5 years' industry experience
- Advanced knowledge of local, state, and federal code requirements
- Advanced knowledge of inspection requirements
- Intermediate ability to successfully produce large loss and commercial claims
- Must be Xactimate level 2 or other loss estimation software
- Advanced DR Scope experience
- Advanced in restoration losses including contents, drying, carpet, paint, drywall, asbestos/mold abatement
- Intermediate working knowledge of insurance claims negotiation with adjusters
- Advanced ability to read blueprints/architectural plans
- Valid driver's license
- Passport or ability to obtain passport and travel without restrictions
- Willing to travel extensively and provide 24/7 availability for emergency response as needed
Education:
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in construction or related field, preferred
