What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Assurance Analyst position at First Orion?
First Orion is looking for a talented Quality Assurance Analyst with strong analytical and problem-solving skills to join our team. Specific responsibilities will be to develop test plans, create and execute test cases, search for ways to break the code and provide feedback on testing results. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a passion for quality assurance processes, ensuring that software and applications meet the highest standards of quality, functionality, and performance. You will also be responsible for ensuring that our products meet the quality standards, is fully functional and is user-friendly. This is a fast-paced environment that is great for a self-starter.
What you’ll be doing:
- Design and execute test plans, test cases, and test scripts for web and backend applications.
- Perform and analyze both manual and automated testing to identify defects and issues early in the software development lifecycle.
- Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and product analysts to understand system requirements and identify potential test scenarios.
- Document and track defects, issues, and enhancements, ensuring proper communication with development teams for timely resolution.
- Execute regression, performance, security, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) based on project requirements.
- Analyze test results and assist in troubleshooting and debugging defects, providing root cause analysis when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with industry best practices, standards, and procedures for software testing and quality assurance.
- Work closely with developers to reproduce issues and verify fixes.
- Provide continuous feedback on software quality and performance to the development team.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a test environment, test data, and test infrastructure.
- Participate in regular team meetings, reviews, and sprint planning to stay updated on project progress and timelines.
What you’ll need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject
- 2-4 years software testing experience in lieu of education.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- Keen eye for details
- Great team player in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong sense of time and priority management
- Familiar with Quality Control including creating and reviewing test plans, defect management, and executing test cases
- Experience with SQL
- Organizational skills

- Experience using TestRails or Xray
- Experience in quality assurance techniques and procedures
- Experience in software development lifecycle
- Experience in software application testing
- Software Engineer knowledge
- Technical knowledge in Wireless and/or Wireline Carrier Network platforms and telcom industry
