First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is looking to employ two (2) OB / GYNs for practice locations in Sarasota and Venice, Florida . We are located approximately 60 minutes south of Tampa and 1.5 hours north of Ft. Myers on the West Coast of Florida. Our OB / GYNs see patients in the clinic setting, provide surgical services in the hospital, and collaborate with our employed OB Hospitalists who provides 24 / 7 in-house coverage of the OB ECC and any unassigned expectant mothers. Sarasota Memorial also received level III Maternal Care Verification from the Joint Commission in 2023, in collaboration with the American College of Obstetrics. Equitable call amongst providers. Select physicians provide outpatient services in two clinic locations Practices is on staff at one hospital – SMH-Sarasota. Mother Baby unit holds 28 beds and Labor & Delivery has 18 spacious suites. 8 bed OB-ECC & triage unit conveniently located near L&D Unit. 3 C-section ORs and a 4-bed PACU with the ability to flex beds. Level III NICU with 33 private rooms. 5 daVinci Xi Robots and 1 daVinci SP in the hospital. 24 / 7 Neonatology and Maternal Fetal Medicine physician coverage. First Physicians Group employs MFMs, Gyn / Oncs and Breast Surgical Oncologists. No OB / GYN Residents at SMH requiring teaching / supervision, but there is an opportunity to teach FSU Medical Students if interested. SMH-Venice opened in October 2021 and is now doing 290 GYN Surgeries and 300 deliveries a year. They are on track for over 500 deliveries in FY 25. Due to the growth and the needs of the south county community, the hospital expanded to 212 patient rooms, 8 operating rooms and 61 exam rooms in the Emergency Care Center. SMH-Venice was designed with the future in mind and plans to more than double in size to 400 beds and 16 surgical suites in the near future. Venice Highlights : Join three (3) experienced physicians and an APRN. On staff at one hospital - SMH-Venice. Outpatient clinic is conveniently located in the Medical Office Building attached to the hospital. Level 1 nursery, delivering patients 35 weeks. 10 private Birthing Suites 2 C-Section ORs and 4 triage beds 6 ORs with a daVinci Xi Robot MFMs are employed by the group and are available as needed. Required Qualifications : Board Eligible or Board Certified Licensed in Florida and holds a current DEA Certificate Graduate of an ACGME accredited OB / GYN program Benefits Include : A 2-year employment contract with a generous salary and bonus potential. Physicians transition to a generous pay model after 2 years. Income potential ranges from the high $300s to $600K once practice is established.
