High School Minister

First Presbyterian Church Fresno is seeking a High School Minister. With the supervision, guidance and support of the Assistant Pastor of Children & Youth, the successful candidate will work in collaboration with all staff, leaders and parents to develop, coordinate and administer an integrated, comprehensive and effective high school ministry that draws students into ever-increasing faith in God for all areas of life.

Primary duties of this position are:

• Equip, engage, and supervise leaders to be Gospel-centered disciple makers
• Build strategic relationships with leaders, students, parents, congregants and ministry partners
• Ensure that FPC youth ministry is Gospel-centered and includes outreach, evangelism, discipleship, worship and service
• Regularly preach and teach the Word of God to high school students
• Exhibit a growing relationship with Christ that is evident in personal and professional life
• Follow the child protection policy of First Presbyterian Church Fresno
• Support and encourage parents in their ministry to students
• Plan, coordinate and lead camps, service and learning trips, retreats and conferences
• Demonstrate a pastor's heart with the youth

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in ministry or related field, although equivalent work experience will be considered. At least two years' of experience in paid, full-time youth ministry is preferred. Experience in youth ministry leadership is required. A proven track record in recruiting, training and supervising adult volunteers is favored, along with a strong history of involvement in a local church. The winning candidate will understand and embrace the purpose and vision of First Presbyterian Church Fresno, and will be in agreement with doctrine and standards of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church (epc.org/about/beliefs). They will possess a clear understanding of what it means to speak the truth of Christ into the everyday stuff of life.

This position is a full-time, exempt position requiring approximately 40 hours per week, with flexible hours based on special events.

All employees are required to pass a criminal background check and Department of Motor Vehicles check prior to start of employment. The High School Minister must be able to drive, visit students at their schools and participate in youth games and activities.

FPC is a vibrant church whose purpose is to engage together in Christ's work of making disciples for the redeeming transformation of our city and the world. It is located in downtown Fresno, has a staff of about twenty and a weekly Sunday worship attendance of about 400. FPC is affiliated with the Evangelical Presbyterian Church www.epc.org.
