Security Staff

Job Summary: The First Presbyterian Church of Pontiac is seeking experienced, compassionate professional individuals to work with homeless people to provide direct care at our weather emergency shelter.

Specific Job Duties/Responsibilities (but not limited to):

1. Punctual

2. Periodic Foot patrol of the shelter (inside)

3. Monitor front desk/ Access control of entry

4. Complete shift report

5. Complete incident reports

6. Enjoy meeting new people

7. Compassion for working with vulnerable populations

8. Help with resolving conflict

Requirements:

1. Clean background

2. 18 years of age or older

3. Experience working with homeless individuals and families is a plus

4. Basic Computer skills

5. Ability to commute to Pontiac, Michigan

6. Ability to work midnight shift and some weekends

7. Certification in CPR and First Aid is preferred for emergency response readiness

8. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

Shifts:

5pm to 12 am (tentative)

12am to 8 am (tentative)

Job Types: Part-time, Temporary

Pay: $15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week

Schedule:

• 4 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Night shift

Experience:

• Customer service: 1 year (Preferred)

Ability to Commute:

• Pontiac, MI 48342 (Required)

Ability to Relocate:

• Pontiac, MI 48342: Relocate before starting work (Preferred)
