Position Description
Title: Audio and Video Technical Assistant
Reporting Relationship/Supervisor: Supervised by the Pastor and Tech Team Leader
Hours: Part-time. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to supplement their income by working 2.5-3 hours on Sunday mornings and occasional hours for special services. Additional hours may be available as determined by the pastor.
Purpose: Assist with video and sound production for the church’s online outreach program.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with the Tech Team leader to determine what is needed for each service.
- Be at church no later than 9:00 am on Sunday mornings to set up equipment, boot up the computer and sound system, and test microphones and other equipment to prepare for the service which starts at 10:00 am.
- Operate the video streaming equipment and sound system during the Sunday service and special events. A member of the Tech Team will assist with the streaming and recording.
- Set up and tear down AV equipment as needed for each service and event.
- Report any equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs as necessary.
- Make sure the streaming area is clean and secure before leaving. (Note: Most Sunday services end by 11:00 am. The Technical Assistant will usually have completed all duties by 11:30.)
- Coordinate with the pastor and Tech Team leader for special services such as Christmas, Easter, weddings, and funerals.
- Attend Technology Committee meetings (The Technology Committee meets about 6-7 times a year, usually on the first Tuesday of the month.)
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends in church audio visual production.

- Perform other duties as assigned by the pastor.
Qualifications/Required Skills:
- Applicant must have experience with operating video cameras, computers, and digital sound systems to provide live video streaming. (We will train the applicant to work with our specific equipment). Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically under pressure is recommended.
- Team oriented. Must work well with staff, volunteers, and the congregation.

Equipment Used:
Video cameras, still cameras, microphones, sound boards, computers, and streaming equipment. Training will be provided on software as needed.
Other Special Requirements: Valid driver’s license.
Wages/Benefits $100.00 per Sunday service. Additional hours and pay available for special services. Dental and Vision insurance included.
